It's a Lifestyle: 24 Day Challenge - Part I

We are about to start our 2nd Advocare 24 Day Challenge. Aboy and I are already getting into mental readiness mode.

The challenge starts on April 6th.

For the first 10 days, we will do the cleanse portion. It's not a violent or volatile type cleanse... it's more of a gentle scrubbing of the flora in our digestive track. This helps prepare the body for the "Max" phase which is high in nutritional intake and absorption.

For the following 14 days, we do the Max phase which is really a Lifestyle Adjustment Tool.  You use healthy eating, exercise and the nutritional supplements to help your body break it's addiction from the sugar, bad fats, caffeine and other demons that derail your health and quality of life.

THIS IS NOT A DIET.

And I will repeat in case you missed it:
THIS IS NOT A DIET!

If you are looking for a diet - go count points, use colorful bowls to classify your food into starvation portions, mix up some diet shakes or microwave prepackaged foods... Also, when you're done with your "DIET", be prepared to put on the weight that you lost PLUS 10 more pounds.

When you "DIET", you aren't changing your lifestyle, you're depriving yourself of reality. When you enter back into the real world of food - you won't know how to stop yourself when presented with less than favorable food selections.

And just to clarify - the reason I say "Mental Readiness" is because we will step up the intensity of our healthy eating for 24 days to help reset our metabolism.

Every challenge we do will be to help us re-evaluate our menu selections and nutritional needs to make sure we are proactively listening to our inner voices and overall health needs.

For instance, if I am a little extra sore because I did too much at the gym, my aching muscles let me know I need a complex carb like oatmeal to help feed my muscles.

If I'm a little hungry after I eat a meal, it means I didn't get enough protein to help sustain me until my snack.

The 24 Day Challenge is just a focus on our eating habits and a periodic chapter in life's book to help us keep the clarity of our ultimate goal which is optimum health.

If these products are good enough for Professional Athletesthat just lets us know their endorsements are a testament to the quality of the products and the reason Aboy and I feel so great! Especially in the fact they are not PAID to endorse the products (like Rex Ryan - after his lap band surgery, endorsing a Pizza Chain... WTF??).

To be honest - after using the products for the first 3 months of the year - our only regret is that we didn't start sooner.
